Hey everyone,
Why publish internal philosophy?
Sharing the Atlas publicly might seem like a declaration that we've figured it all out. We haven't. The Atlas changes because we change — because we learn from artists, because new technology raises new questions, because a principle that felt clear on paper gets complicated the moment you try to ship it.
Publishing it isn't a performance of certainty. It's an invitation to hold us accountable to what we say we believe. If you use StudioOps, you're part of this. Your feedback doesn't just improve features — it helps shape the principles those features have to answer to. We want artists in that conversation early, not after the architecture has hardened. The best version of the Atlas won't be written by us alone.
These letters are our attempt to show our work — to explain not just what we're building, but what we're trying to protect while we build it. Thank you for reading them. More soon.
The Atlas belongs to everyone building StudioOps — including the artists who use it.
Talk soon,
Todd
